Scan barcodes

Restock sealed products by scanning them one after another, with the camera, a webcam or a scanner gun.

Scanning is mostly for products with a barcode (EAN): displays, ETBs, Funko, vinyl… You scan products one after another, review, then everything is added at once.

Open it with Scan items: the + button, the Stock header or search.

A scan session with several products

Scan

The rear camera opens. Aim at the barcode inside the frame: the frame turns green, the phone vibrates and beeps. The camera stays on so you can keep going; Turn the torch on helps in a dark place.

The list fills up live: product name (or Unknown product) and number of units. Scanning the same code again adds 1. You can remove a line.

Draft kept

The session is kept on the device for your account: you can close it and resume scanning later. Clear session deletes the scanned lines without touching your stock.

Review before adding

Review (N units) opens the review.

Shared values

The space (inventory by default), the date (today), the supplier and, if needed, the condition of new items.

Each line

Adjust the quantity and unit price (by default, the item's average cost). The line total shows.

Codes to clarify

  • Several matching items: choose the item to restock.
  • Unknown code: New item (name and category) or Link to an item you already have; Aeon suggests your recent items without a barcode.

Incomplete lines are flagged.

Add

Add N units saves everything at once. Keep scanning goes back to the camera without losing anything.

In an item's record, the Barcode (EAN) field is optional: it lets you find the item by scanning it. Aeon warns if the code is already linked to another item. Stock search also finds an item by its exact code.

Items without a barcode (single cards, second-hand sneakers…) can get an Aeon label with a QR code: the scanner recognises it too.
